'The best of the alternative magazines' – Michael Moorcock

Merry New Year

It’s a strange world . . .

January 05, 2012

New Year's Resolution: unnecessary emails will not be answered. If you have a question, please see the About section. It contains our address, ordering information and much more. Unless you ask a question that isn't answered there it'll be form responses only, once; replying to those with the same 'question' will get you ignored! There's work to get on with.

. . . So it’s a good job that THE SHARPEST MAGAZINE IN THE WORLD publishes reviews, comment, interviews and other features; books, films and stuff, and original fiction; discerningly chosen SF (speculative fiction, science fiction, whatever . . .), horror, crime, fantasy (it’s all fantasy), magic realism, anything we like . . . imaginative short stories and novellas.

Most of this site comes from back issues of the print magazine that are now sold out. Not everything we publish goes online and we no longer publish web exclusives (hence the age of much of the material here). So snap up the available back issues

Iain Banks  *  Clive Barker  *  Steve Beard  *  Anne Billson  *  Jonathan Carroll  *  Mark Chadbourn  *  Storm Constantine  *  Paul Di Filippo  *  Christopher Fowler  *  William Gibson  *  M John Harrison  *  Graham Joyce  *  Ken MacLeod  *  Robert Meadley  *  Michael Moorcock  *  Alan Moore  *  Grant Morrison  *  Kim Newman  *  Joyce Carol Oates  *  Bridget Penney  *  Chris Petit  *  Christopher Priest  *  Kim Stanley Robinson  *  Nicholas Royle  *  James Sallis  *  Iain Sinclair  *  Indra Sinha  *  Michael Marshall  *  Jason Starr  *  Peter Whitehead  *  Snoo Wilson  *  and others.

And many (it’s a fairly random selection) of our reviews are here too.
